This interactive map highlight historic LGBTQ locations in Pensacola, including bars, businesses, and community spaces that played an important role in the community's history.

This project is part of the Mapping Out Legacy:  LGBTQ Pensacola initiative.

Updated:

  • 08/30/2026 - Corrected address of Red Garter (1), to reflect 329 S Palafox Street.   Update also includes copy of ad placed in the Pensacola News Journal announcing their opening on Tuesday, August 23, 1973.   

  • 08/30/2026 - Added The Green Parakeet, opened in August 1979,  located at 420 W Garden Street.
